The Art of Sharing
The Art and Design departments of both the Royal School and the Academy recently exhibited the work of their GCSE and A Level students in the
Exhibition Space on the second floor of the Ranfurly House Arts and Visitors Centre. This exceptional display of artistic and creative talent formed part
of a much greater collaborative programme between the two schools as part of the Signature Project for Shared Education (SESP),with a diverse range of curricular and extra-curricular activities currently on-going.
From the joint Duke of Edinburgh/President’s Award expeditions for the Sixth Form to last week’s KS4 trip to Berlin, the collaborative History programme, the joint mentoring programme and a range of other cross-community initiatives, the Shared Education experience has greatly enriched the
lives of many pupils from both schools. We look forward in the coming academic year to further developing and expanding this fine programme
which nurtures respect for identity and diversity whilst promoting the good of all in the community.
