CCEA Top Achievers
Congratulations to all our past pupils who achieved outstanding success in their A level CCEA examinations last year. The students returned to the Academy this week to collect a range of awards including a special annual bursary for the top ICT student , Sean McGirr, which was presented by Capita Managed IT solutions in partnership with C2K. Pictured with the Academy Principal, Mr Fintan Donnelly, are Emma Hurson, ( now studying Biochemistry at Queen’s University), who was ranked 3rd in Geography; Sean McGirr , (now studying Actuarial Studies at Queen’s University), who came joint first in ICT; Sean O’Neill, (now reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Hertford college, Oxford), who came 2nd in Irish; Mark Mullan,(now studying animation at Ulster University, Belfast), who came joint first in Art and Design; and Ellen McGrath, (now reading English at Homerton College, Cambridge), who achieved a double third in Government and Politics as well as History. A big thank you to all the Academy teachers who mentored these students throughout their years in the Academy, and in particular, during their time in the Sixth Form. We wish all our past pupils every continued success and good fortune as they embark on their chosen journeys in further education and future employment.
