Academy students excel again

There is great celebration at St Patrick’s Academy with the release of this year’s A Level examination results.

Principal, Mr Donnelly commented

“This has been another year of excellent A level results at the Academy and I must pay tribute to the hard work and talent of all of our students and their teachers. With 31 students achieving straight As or better and over 90% of grades at A*-C, I am pleased to see so many of our students gain admission to their first choice university course.

Of course, even with such a strong overall performance there are a number of our students whose achievements stand among the very best in the country and it is very gratifying to see them win places in prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge as well as in some of the most competitive degree courses”.

“I am particularly pleased with this year group’s A level of performance because it reflects the Academy’s strengths of academic rigour and strong pastoral support. We work hard at developing our students as well-rounded young people and independent learners. This approach fosters excellent character building and a real sense of personal achievement. We all know that young people need the best qualifications possible but they also need resilience and life skills if they are to make the most of those qualifications. This year’s A level students have demonstrated through their myriad achievements in sports, music, debating, enterprise and community work that they have those skills and attributes in abundance”.

I pay tribute to all of our young people for their hard work and commitment, to our expert staff, who have guided them through their seven years and to their parents for their unstinting support.” We will follow their future careers with interest.
