Claiming Special Circumstances Pack
  • If you feel your child experienced a medical or other problem which may have affected his/her score in the Entrance Assessment, you may apply for Special Circumstances.  For more information on this process, read the guidance notes in the following form: Special Circumstances Guidance Notes
     
  • Register your claim for Special Circumstances with the Assessment Centre before 4-00pm on 18th December 2009 using the following form: Registration of a Claim for Special Circumstances (form SCR)
     
  • If you decide to proceed with your claim for Special Circumstances after receiving your child’s results from the Entrance Assessment, you should complete the following form:  Claim for Special Circumstances (form SC1)
     

Registration Pack
This registration pack contains the following documentation (Click each link to download the document (pdf)):
Registration Form To be completed and returned to an Assessment Centre by 18th September 2009.
Guidance Notes To assist in the completion of the Registration Form and other documents.
Access Arrangements Claim Form (AA1) To be completed if you are claiming Access Arrangements for your child (see Guidance Notes).
Access Arrangements (Medical Information) Claim Form (AA2) To be completed by your child’s General Practitioner or Medical Consultant in support of a claim for Access Arrangements in relation to a medical condition.
Access Arrangements (Special Educational Needs) Form (AA3) To be completed by a suitably qualified person* in support of a claim for Access Arrangements in relation to special educational needs.

*If you are claiming Access Arrangements for your child, you are advised to obtain a copy of the Access Arrangements & Special Circumstances Policy

Mon 18th May 2009 Registration packs are available from Post Primary schools (school websites, by
post or in person).
Fri 18th September 2009 Final date for receipt of completed Registration Forms.
Sat 21st November 2009 Entrance Assessment.
Mon 30th November 2009 Deadline for receipt of requests to take the Supplementary Assessment.
Sat 12th December 2009 Supplementary Assessment.
Fri 18th December 2009 Deadline (4:00pm) for receipt of claims for Special Circumstances.
Fri 5th February 2010 Results of Entrance Assessment posted to children’s homes.
Fri 19th February 2010 Deadline for receipt of request for re-mark.
